Summer Forever.

Simple summer colors in the glorious sun.

Gabe and I start our cross country road trip at 7 am sharp (okay, it'll probably be more like 8 am if I'm being honest). I'll fill you in about it once we get back. :) I got us some fun snacks at Whole Foods so we don't have to eat gas station junk (though I will treat myself with some Diet Cokes along the way). I'm most excited about trying the Blueberry Muffin Lara bar! Follow me on TWITTER for updates from every state!

Anyway, you guys are the best and, in all honesty, you make my life sweeter and happier. ♥

Etsy Collection: Pretty Dresses

I mostly took the week off from the shop and taking photos and everything else that comes along with it. It was a refreshing break! I got lots of other things done like planting more flowers, organizing my office and getting a haircut. All the little things that I never really leave time to do. But that doesn't mean there aren't lovely things to be snatched up from the Etsy shop. Here are some of my favorites that are still available.

lake time thoughts.

as of late i haven't been sure i enjoy blogging as much as i once did.  this morning jeb and i head to new hampshire for ten days of rest and relaxation and i think it will give me some time to wrap my head around where i might want to head with this blog.  i know that i love writing about the books i read, and sometimes think that might be the route i want to take.  i've met a lot of great people and made some terrific friends through blogging, but i think the downsides have felt stronger in the past couple of months.  i hope you'll all bear with me as i figure out my next steps.
i'm signing off until i return to the city.
until then, i hope you all have a wonderful weekend/week and enjoy this gorgeous summer.

p.s. buy this awesome sign here.

Park your car neath an August moon.

I honestly am floored at the fact that it's nearly August! We are blessed to have such mild summers in L.A. This is what I wore for a nice sunset walk with Birdie and Husbers.

Thanks so much for all your well wishes in regards to my stressful week. It hasn't eased up yet but there's always hope for tomorrow...or next month at least! :) I am still fully enjoying the small pops and coffee. And snuggles. And palm tree filled sunset summer walks.

Steven Alan Fall 2011

Apparently it's Fall Week here on the blog. Sort of like shark week, only with clothes? It wasn't intentional but here I am posting yet another fall collection. As soon as I saw a few of the looks on Starr's blog I knew I had to see more. It's my favorite so far! I love the whole urban explorer look with the ponchos and the hats and the boots (it makes me think of Elaine Benes and her urban sombrero). I'm also completely smitten with those brown ankle boots. I think they might lace up the back? Love!

City Fun

I broke my hermit streak this week by going out tonight for one of CitySwarm's patio series at the Crossing. My friend Courtney and I both enjoy putting sweats on right after work, overeating and watching television. It's not a glamorous life, but it's the life I live when I can. I reserved Monday and Tuesday this week as days to caught up on life--edit wedding photos and nap and I spiced up Wednesday by meeting a slew of new people and drinking Summer Shandies out on a bar patio, thanks to CitySwarm's invitation. I need to start registering for more events and experience the city of Chicago. I enjoy organized events where I don't have to do the planning and organizing, it's really the best way to get my butt out there to meet people and see new places.
[white bustier and maxi dress by f21, thrifted belt, shoes c/o blowfish, bag by badgley mischka, accessories from kie&kate]
I wore this maxi dress when I first moved to Chicago and you can see it here. This time, I wore the dress as a skirt and added a white bustier and heels, the perfect outfit for a couple drinks and to meet new people on a hot day.
My fabulous friend Courtney wearing a dress by H&M and heels by Jessica Simpson.
