2010 Recap

I vowed last year to make an effort to be more adventurous and spontaneous and thanks to my blog, I've come more out of my shell and allowed myself to just have fun. 2010 was a year of developing new friendships across the country, traveling and overall, trying new things. Below are photos of my favorite memories and a few of the most popular outfits.
One of my favorite memories? Tieka and I drove to New York City for some fashion week festivities last February. The first night I was to able to meet all these fabulous ladies at Dove's Girls Night Out.

I've made a lasting friendship with Kim when I met her in NYC and I had a blast visiting her in Philly last Spring. Getting to know her more and her amazing boyfriend Brian was a highlight of my year.

I really wanted to spend the year improving my ability to photograph bands live. I've slowly gotten better over the last four years and I absolutely love photographing my friend Jimmie's band and becoming friends with the rest of those crazy dudes. I still managed to cut off his feet in this photo I otherwise like. Damn it.

Through radio interviews, guest blogging for media and magazine covers, Lansing has really embraced my blog. I'm so grateful for everyone's support this last year. #lovelansing <3.

Joining Lansing Derby Vixens. I made so many new friends and volunteered at different events that I never attended before. Although I've had to take a break from it because of lack of time, I love these ladies. They're tough bitches with hearts of gold.

On several occasions, I've had the opportunity to attend blogger meet ups and I hope I can attend a ton more this coming year. Suze is so lovely and I'm glad I've been able to get to know her and have a new friend I wouldn't have otherwise met.

I've spent the last year making sure I can participate in as many events as possible and lugging my camera with to capture in any fun moments or interesting people like Tim Gunn.

wrap me in pattern

2010Dec11_0150
[dress c/o Kristin Hassan, jacket by bcbg, heels by kelsi dagger]
Chicago-based designer, Kristin Hassan, sent me this wonderfully patterned wrap dress perfect for work. I'm really digging this silhouette and can't wait to style it for all seasons.
I wanted to layer something with the dress since I'm usually cold at work, especially in December so I opted for my shoulder padded jacket. I've experimented with wrapping the sash so it's longer or shorter. I like that I can play with the attached sash and that it's actually attached because I'm notorious for losing belts and misplacing pretty much anything I own.
Oh and guess what! Kristin Hassan is offering a special discount to my readers--25 percent off with the code BLONDEBEDHEAD25! Get your shop on!

A Visit to Philadelphia!

DSC_9693
Once I found out I'd be in Philly when I joined my friend's band, Every Avenue on tour, I quickly told Kim of eat.sleep.wear. For newer readers if you didn't know, I met Kim last year during fashion week in New York and we bonded immediately. I even visited her last April in Philly and had such a blast! I was only in Center CIty for the day, so Kim and I met up first at Reading Terminal with her super great boyfriend Brian to catch up over lunch. And of course devour some cupcakes. Here are a few photos that Brian took of us!

Kim had to return to work for a couple hours and I then met up with Victorianna, an old friend I haven't seen in years. We both were on the equestrian team at Michigan State University (she stuck it out all four years, I lasted one.) It was great catching up while we shopped on Walnut St. Veronika of Tick Tock Vintage met up with us later and I was so pumped to meet her! I love her blog and she was so much fun to hang out with! I couldn't stop admiring her outfit or her hair! Ha!

The three of us met up with Kim at a new wine bar, where Kim and Veronika got to meet. It was such a fun, but quick meet up. We must all meet up again! Soon!

After it was time for me to leave, Kim walked me to the subway to make sure I knew my way and even waited outside the train window and waved goodbye as I left. It was so sad because it definitely was not enough time to see her. She's one of those people you could hang out with forever and never grow tired of. Kim has such a fun spirited personality and I just love her.
