Lighting of the White House Christmas Tree

The First Family lit the Annual White Christmas Tree on the Ellipse last night, joined by Carson Daly, Ellie Goulding and the cast of the Muppets. Braving the cold, the First Lady wears a light mix wool boucle coat and a vibrant orange scarf. Daughters Sasha and Malia looked as chic as ever, wearing a navy military inspired coat and a black coat with red edging respectively.

The First Lady, accompanied by daughters Malia and Sasha and Bo received the official 2011 White House Christmas tree earlier today. Arriving on a horse drawn cart, the 19 foot balsam fir was grown on Schroeder's Forevergreens in Neshkoro, Wisconsin.

For the ceremony, Mrs O wore a patterned grey mix skirt with a white blouse, black ribbon belt, a grey cardigan and grey suede boots. Daughters Malia and Sasha are looking particularly grown up, wearing a dusky pink blouse and navy corduroy skirt, deep red jeans, a velvet top and leather jacket respectively.

In true Thanksgiving spirit, the First Family volunteered at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington DC yesterday. Hope you and yours had a good Thanksgiving day!
