Channeling Peg Bundy

DSC_7324
With big, red hair and leopard, I felt very Peg Bundy, ha! I picked up these pretty little leopard print shorts from H&M. I think I now own every item of clothing in a leopard print, actually, I just need some leopard pants. I also never really wore cream tops before, but I feel like it's something that goes well with red hair, so now I'll rock more of this color!
Since the outfit was a mix of neutral colors, I grabbed my purple suede pumps to add a pop of color. I sold these to my friend, Kimmi, but still haven't brought them over to her yet. Kimmi, I hope this will lure you to visit me sooner! :)

on sunday night caroline and i went to see adele and the civil wars at the house of blues.  it was one of the best lives shows i have ever seen.  the civil wars were incredible and definitely a major highlight of the show for me.  adele was just beyond.  she makes such a powerful voice seem so effortless.  we had a fantastic time and i'm already looking forward to the next time she makes her way through boston.
i wanted to wear something that was cool and breathable since i knew the house of blues would be packed.  this lightweight cotton shirt was perfect i thought it looked great with leggings and flats.  i added one of my great grandmother's silk scarves to put some color into the outfit.

A New Hue

I feel so refreshed with this new hair color! i had been contemplating this change for a while now and of course I thought about how it would be strange for me to be a redhead with a blonde blog name, but oh well! The name isn't changing! I really just wasn't feeling pretty and I think it had a lot to do with having a hair color that wasn't so flattering on me. I researched best hair colors for my skin tone and ultimately decided to channel Isla Fisher. I went to an experienced colorist, Alison, at Gro Salon in the Bucktown neighborhood in Chicago. We did a short consultation, I showed her some photos of red hair and she agreed this would suit me!
I had every intention of wearing this outfit styled around the Boy Meets Girl tee I received out this past Saturday night. Unfortunately, the weather once again dictated a more practical and weather appropriate outfit. So I'll be wearing this out on the weekend in the next couple weeks! I picked up these mesh leggings last summer and can't wait to pair them with long tees all summer long.

we spent another weekend in new hampshire and i feel refreshed after spending all of my time reading, relaxing and eating delicious food.  my little break from blogging seemed perfectly timed after all of the issues blogger was having last week.  from now on i am going to stress less when a day goes by without a post.  today, i am happy to be back posting.  here are a few photos from our walk on the beach this saturday.  it was quite a chilly and wet weekend so lots of layers were a must.  this oversized l.l.bean sweater was perfectly cozy and warm paired with my chambray top and a pleated skirt.
i am off to see adele and the civil wars with a few of my friends and will be back tomorrow with more from the weekend.

SURPRISE! Red Hair!
