A Day Walk in Night Walks

DSC_7669
I had been pining for these Jeffrey Campbell Night Walk shoes from Lori's for weeks and finally, they are in my possession!  People have asked, "Dear God, how do you walk in those?" And my reply has been quite simply, it's magic. They're designed to be walkable. I even hopped a low fence in these and skipped through puddles for these photos. I had a mini race with someone at work to prove to them they are both awesome and functional, which brings to me to where I wore them this week: work.
I work at an advertising agency where people are more than welcome to express themselves in any way possible whether it's funky blue tights or a Miller Lite logo button up, people wear anything and everything. I thought the best way to balance these shoes for work would be through a camel colored pant and a thick grey turtleneck--very neutral and unassuming.

Home

DSC_7477
Home. It's always been a somewhat awkward place for me to return to for the holidays. My values and worldview are so drastically different from everyone else in my family, but it's always good to see them and catch up.
I wore a pretty little pink dress on Thanksgiving, but I would have fit in more if I wore my lumberjack look from the previous week. I've had a hard time styling this dress since it's shrunk in length so much, but I figured I could squeeze one more wear out of it at a family holiday function. I added black boots to make my Thanksgiving look a little more casual. What do you like to wear for holiday family functions?

Lumberjack

This weekend has been a miserable one. I've been sick and somehow managed to take some pictures to document this in an outfit I really like despite my sickly circumstances. It was pretty warm last Saturday so I layered a cozy flannel and a cropped jacket over my sweatshirt with a pair of vintage Levi cut offs and my new boots from MIA. And that's all she wrote.

Shimmer & Glitter

DSC_7133
Let's be real, I don't often sport sequins and glitter, but I fell in love with this jacket when I spotted it in a couple shops and was so excited when I got to pick it out from Lulu's. I think this jacket could be fun paired with a more colorful outfit, but the way I wear a sequined jacket and shimmery shoes is by dressing the rest of me in muted tones. I paired my dark blue jeans with a navy polka dotted top with hopes it would elongate my 5'4" height with the help of these mary jane heels!
I wore this to dinner with the boyfriend last weekend to a quaint Thai restaurant and then to Target where I stomped down the aisles looking for Poptarts, ice cream and a variety of seasonings. Again, I always tend to wear my sassiest outfits to do some light grocery shopping or some other equally mundane task.

A Perfect Fall Day

DSC_6987
I made the most of Chicago's perfect fall day last Saturday and ran around in a cozy jacket, a new faux fur vest and dress to meet hat designer Eugenia Kim during her trunk show. She was at p45, a boutique in Bucktown, where I also ran into some lovely Chicago bloggers. I'll be sharing some photos from that tomorrow!

Jubilee

I wore this yesterday to work. It's unfortunate I didn't have a client meeting because beyond a trip to Starbucks, I just sat at my desk all day and since it was rainy, I couldn't frolic outside after work, which as you know, is how I get home. I frolic. Jupe Boutique let me pick out this pretty dress and to make it more Andrea, I added black wedge boots and an American Living cotton moto jacket and a statement necklace. I was concerned for a moment of how to style it with it becoming colder, but the dress was actually super easy to style once I started trying on jackets and sweaters over it!
If you're interested in the dress or other cute items at Jupe, use the code "BEDHEADSBEST" for 20% off an item until 11/25!

A Stroll In The Park

DSC_6594
After driving home from a couple of my favorite vintage shops on Saturday, I saw this open field with a great view of the skyscrapers. What was even more exciting was the free parking surrounding the field. Score! My boyfriend and I stopped here to snap my outfit photos quickly before heading to Merl of Clyde's Rebirth's studio, where she was finishing up her lookbook for some of her new, beautiful pieces of jewelry. After that, we headed to Molly's Cupcakes to meet with a couple friends and ended our night in the suburbs for dinner and a movie. Low key weekends are my favorite. And I feel refreshed and ready for another busy week at work! How was your weekend?!

A Dancing Dress

DSC_6361
Last Friday, I danced my flat ass across the dance floor at one of my favorite bars back in Michigan. And I opted for this long sleeved mini print dress and a pair of my more sensible shoes for the occasion. Photos of improved hair will be in next week's outfit posts!

After seeing these photos, I realized just how white I am and after months of trying to figure out if my old, bright blonde suited my skin tone, I realized I'm pale and should be able to go back to super blonde again. So I did. It doesn't look that much different, I just look a little brighter!

Lots of Leather

DSC_6243
This is one of my favorite outfits, containing everything I love: leather, a loose tee, boots and shoulder pads! Sometimes I find myself wearing more bold outfits for mundane activities like running to the mall or grabbing a breakfast sandwich just because I put the outfit together and I can't wait to wear it for something more exciting. Beyond running errands, I did grab dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Lansing on Saturday, Michigan Brewing Company in this before changing into my lame-o Halloween costume.

For Halloween, I dressed up as a cat. Lame I know, and next year I'm going to put more effort into it. My gorgeous friend, Jenn dressed up as Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction and her hubby dressed up as Vincent Vega while my boyfriend dressed up as a pepper shaker, which he spent two weeks designing and building himself, complete with a hat that actually dispensed pepper.
