I vowed last year to make an effort to be more adventurous and spontaneous and thanks to my blog, I've come more out of my shell and allowed myself to just have fun. 2010 was a year of developing new friendships across the country, traveling and overall, trying new things. Below are photos of my favorite memories and a few of the most popular outfits.
One of my favorite memories? Tieka and I drove to New York City for some fashion week festivities last February. The first night I was to able to meet all these fabulous ladies at Dove's Girls Night Out.
Elizabeth of Delightfully Tacky, Erin of Calivintage, Tieka of Selective Potential, Jen of Jenloveskev, Melissa of the Girl Afraid, Kim of eat.sleep.wear., Jessica of What I Wore, Rebecca of the Clothes Horse, Julie of Orchid Grey
Elizabeth and I went to a fashion show at Bryant Park. So. Much. Fun.
I was able to see a handful of some of my favorite bands like Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos (below), Seawolf and Fun.
I've made a lasting friendship with Kim when I met her in NYC and I had a blast visiting her in Philly last Spring. Getting to know her more and her amazing boyfriend Brian was a highlight of my year.
I really wanted to spend the year improving my ability to photograph bands live. I've slowly gotten better over the last four years and I absolutely love photographing my friend Jimmie's band and becoming friends with the rest of those crazy dudes. I still managed to cut off his feet in this photo I otherwise like. Damn it.
Through radio interviews, guest blogging for media and magazine covers, Lansing has really embraced my blog. I'm so grateful for everyone's support this last year. #lovelansing <3.
Joining Lansing Derby Vixens. I made so many new friends and volunteered at different events that I never attended before. Although I've had to take a break from it because of lack of time, I love these ladies. They're tough bitches with hearts of gold.
On several occasions, I've had the opportunity to attend blogger meet ups and I hope I can attend a ton more this coming year. Suze is so lovely and I'm glad I've been able to get to know her and have a new friend I wouldn't have otherwise met.
I've spent the last year making sure I can participate in as many events as possible and lugging my camera with to capture in any fun moments or interesting people like Tim Gunn.
